Moored-hen

We went for a stroll round Petersfield Heath for the first times in ages. There were loads of gulls and, excitingly, cormorants although none of my pictures of either of them were up to much. And, annoyingly, Mr DA got a fantastic picture of a cormorant swallowing a fish it had just dived down and caught. Damn him! So, anyway, here is a moorhen balancing on a buoy, something all the smaller birds were taking it in turns to do, some more successfully than others (one particular coot kept trying and sliding off). I'm not sure why they were doing this but suspect it's just for fun.
