WildPlace Blips

Beach Walk

A walk along the beach this afternoon. Nothing unusual seen. Plenty of the usual waders to look at though - Sanderling (todays blip), Oystercatchers, Golden Plover, Ringed Plover plus a handful of Bar-tailed Godwits. A Great Northern Diver was just offshore.

There was hardly any wind so plenty of insects were active on the rotting seaweed - giving the Pied Wagtail, Starlings and Meadow Pipits plenty to eat.

I added an extra photo today - the view looking towards Barra from the top of the dunes.

Nearer to home there were four Whooper Swans on the small loch opposite my house and a small number of Redwings were also around in the township.
