The real McCoy
Another lovely day and this time spent with Mr. T sharing one of his favourite interests - aviation! This morning we went to Wolverhampton to visit the Boulton & Paul Museum B&P. This was a very sad day for the many people who were once workers here or now volunteers and who have kept this wonderful establishment going because today they are saying goodbye to these premises as the new Landlords have something else in store for the building which to date has housed such memories for a long time. Apart from the aircraft, aircraft bits and parts and history there was lots of interest for me including a group of 40's style singers who entertained us with great numbers from my era.....(!!!) lovely fresh-faced looking land girls and lots of people in uniform - hence my blip of a lady in uniform and as she told me was wearing some original silk stockings. Amongst the wonderful collection of old vehicles, jeeps etc. there was a Model T Ford in pristine condition and a Jaguar Mk.1 3.4 which has appeared in Top Gear - she is sometimes dressed up as 'a big girl's blouse' for weddings but would rather be remembered as a Bank Robber's car in the 1960's .
We left the BP Museum, drove home for Mr. T to collect some of his collection of model aircraft and me to put together a picnic. Once at the airfield we sat in the sunshine and ate our picnic.. Mr T flew his planes as only he can executing barrel rolls, loops, stall turns and chandelles etc and I went for a walk with my camera - again enjoying a peaceful space with just a few dog walkers, cattle, sheep and beautiful views. There was another lovely sunset to top the day off and.................................
dinner was late again!
