David and Lucy

Yesterday’s excitement consisting of a wave from Matt Baker, a more or less successful banana cake bake and jolly preprandial drinks with Barrioboy and Digital Daze was always going to be a hard act to follow today.

And so it proved as most of the day was given over to a quiet recouping of strength for the excitement of tonight’s meal with David and Luca.

We did venture out this morning into sunny but arctic conditions to enjoy such underwhelming activities as buying Christmas wrapping paper and perusing a charity shop because our grandson was manning the till as part of his community service for the Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Now we are home after a wonderful meal with David and Luca. There was much wine and for me, and me alone, a Baileys with a dash of vodka.
As usual we have never eaten so well or laughed as much since we last met.
It’s our meal turn next, Christmas dinner.
