An unexpectedly wet day...

... in Cheltenham.

We travelled here by train yesterday evening, so that the horse fanatic could go to Cheltenham Races.

I spent much of the morning wandering around getting wet. These stall holders were not attracting much business.

Retiring to the dry hotel room, I took quite a few shots from the 4th floor window, focussing on the rain drops on the glass (see extras for more wet day shots in Cheltenham).

We've had  our train tickets and hotel booked for weeks for Gary to attend today and tomorrow's racing.

Unfortunately,  he was notified only 2 days ago that the return journey tomorrow would be hit by a strike of RMT 'workers'. Consequently, he will have to miss tomorrow's races so we can try to get the earliest train available and hopefully get home. We are not amused!
