Broken Tree

Imagine the noise that this tree trunk will have made when it snapped - blown over in a gale several months ago. The forces involved to just snap it like matchwood must have been immense.

I have been trying to get a decent shot of it for a few weeks now - but without much success… conditions were too dark or too bright and contrasty. Today it was bright but with a well diffused light from the sun behind some high cloud, so I managed a reasonable shot of it. 

A trip to the supermarket this morning and a walk to the village post office this afternoon - as well as doing our washing and cleaning. A bit less busy than of late.
