Time for Fishing
I had a great morning's meander along the Waikuku Estuary spit, with mpp26.
The black-billed gull in this image has, according to nzbirdsonline, the undesirable status of being the most threatened gull species in the world. Though still relatively abundant, numbers of birds throughout the South Island have rapidly declined. It's only found in New Zealand.
It was having a wonderful time fishing, together with some white-fronted terns - see mpp's images.
I've put some more images into Extras. A banded dotterel having just had a bath, an up-close dotterel, plus some bartailed godwits.
