If You Don't Like the Weather, Wait a Few Minutes
It was sunny in our backyard, but when we drove over to the beach we ran smack into the strangest fog, set at a peculiar angle and thick as gruel. In the Extra I am standing in the sun, but I can't see the wharf, which is on the right. I don't know how the surfers managed, but you could hear them whooping and hollering when they got their waves. The white hotel glowed out of the mist like some lunar destination.
We are still in the throes of this most persistent cold. Got out for a walk, and then spent the afternoon reading in the sun in the backyard. A short afternoon--the angle of the winter light cools everything down quickly.
