Opening
One solitary crocus bud in a pot. A few minutes in the warmth indoors works magic :-)
The cooler weather is slowing down the development of new flowers in the crocus collection. Shorter, darker days mean that flowers will be few and far between for a while now, although those that come will last well under cover.
Jamie feeling out of sorts this morning, we set off late to basketball. Traffic queuing to attend a Christmas Fayre at the Norfolk Showground caused hideous delays and the journey took almost an hour longer than usual. Grrr. When we arrived Jamie managed ten minutes before coming off court feeling icky .... One of life's little jokes :-(
On the way back we stopped at Longwater where the supermarket has decent disabled loos. By this time the crowds were abandoning the Christmas Fayre for the shops, a grand game of musical car parking as the gridlocked traffic sought an empty space - NOT! Disabled badge spaces were not all in use thankfully. Inside we found the disabled loo out of order!!!!
However, upstairs by the cafe there is another but before we got there an excited voice cried "Jamie" and soon we were happily catching up with Chloe and family, a friend he made in hospital a year ago. A much needed lift to an otherwise trying first half of the day. Upshots include Chloe coming to ours tomorrow and Jamie may go to a Youth Club with Chloe once a week in future. They were drawn to Longwater by the Fayre so it had one positive outcome for us at least. Getting out o fthe gridlocked car park after lunch is best forgotten!
Life goes on - Thank you to those who offered supportive words over the last few days. I shall try to return to sunny side up now.
