Puddles at Wasdale (Day 919)
This morning, as the alarm went off, the wind was howling and hailstones were rattling off the windows. It seemed sensible to lurk under the duvet until the weather improved. By the time I headed out for the morning wander up the hill, the weather had improved, though the wind was very chilly.
Back at home, I spent a while cleaning the boiler before drawing up a stone for carving later.
After lunch I took the woofers to Wasdale where the overnight rain and hail had left the ground very wet. The dogs achieved peak filthiness approximately 4 seconds after getting out of the van.
Later, at home, I whiled away the afternoon waiting for my beautiful wife to come home by doing a bit of carving. It is nearly done, it just needs some fine tuning. A job for tomorrow morning.
