A very quiet day indeed. A little lunchtime trip out for some errands and a muck around on an old stomping ground with the old manual 1970s lens, the first time in a long while.

Musically, I posted summat elsewhere today that I'm about to link to here, not out of abject laziness, but more the fact that the more I listen to it the more I am utterly convinced that it is a work of complete songwriting genius and the more people that get to hear it the better. It draws heavily on David Peace's Red Riding quartet of novels, all set in Yorkshire in the late 70s/early 80s and concerned with police corruption and the search for The Yorkshire Ripper. Best described as 'fictionalised documentary' or perhaps even 'dramatized non-fiction' they're a completely engrossing read and written in an extremely stylised manner (likened in the past to an English James Ellroy even). I'm not a big reader these days but I laid on the sofa one Christmas/New Year and just devoured these. They somehow turned the quartet into a trilogy for Channel Four a couple of years ago and the results were pretty good too.

Anyway, enough of the lit crit for now, take it away Luke...
