Purple and gold (Day 914)

There was a beautiful sunrise as the dogs and I wandered up the hill along a path squidgy after overnight rain. I snapped a few shots of the pink and red sky with my mobile phone, having neglected to take my camera with me.
Back at home, as I got organised to take the van into town, the weather began to deteriorate, and by the time I was on my way it was raining fairly heavily. I dropped the van off at the garage to get a little job done, and walked along to Tesco, where my beautiful wife collected me and we returned to base.
After an early-ish lunch, we zoomed across to Mum and Dad for a bit of a catch up after their trip south. We collected Evie the wonderdog and went for a really unpleasant walk along the shore in heavy rain and strong winds. I lugged the camera along, hoping for better weather which didn't materialise.
Back at home, and after drying out a bit, it was time for HV to head to work and for me to get a lift to collect the van.
I was fairly sure I was going to blip one of my sunrise shots, but the phone camera hasn't done very well and they are either blurry, over exposed, or both.
Scrabbling around for inspiration I spotted a leaf from the ornamental cabbage I blipped a little while ago. I spent a while fiddling around with various different ways of lighting it and quite liked the effect in this shot.
