Down south (Day 544)
Another busy day started with a chilly wander up the hill with the dogs. Shortly after getting home the windows were pelted with hailstones. Pretty good timing.
I had arranged a job down in Holm (pronounced Ham) this morning. Fitting an outside tap, which is normally a very simple job, but the house is one of these new fangled ones made from polystyrene blocks filled with concrete. Drilling through the wall was pretty easy, but screwing the tap to the wall needed ridiculously long screws.
Job done, I returned home, collected the dogs and took them to Wasdale for the afternoon walk. The cold northerly wind was beginning to ease a bit and we managed to get our walk done without getting rained on. A squally shower started as we piled into the van to head home.
After feeding the dogs, I went out again to another fault on the boiler I fixed on Friday. I am reasonably sure that I have got it sorted now.
I'm looking forward to an evening slobbed in front of the TV with my beautiful wife. Tomorrow I have a bathroom to rip out.
Today's blip is looking along the south coast of the mainland, and over the top of the first of the Churchill Barriers. The green bit on the left is Lambs Holm (pronounced home), which is where you find the Italian Chapel. Definitely worth a look if you are in the area.
