Happy to be back
A beautiful day and we headed over the border to Caerlaverock and the Wetlands Wildlife Centre. Great to see the Whooper Swans in the sunshine, amongst all the other swans, ducks and geese. I could not resist these two for today’s blip, although I was very taken with something I had not really noticed before – the way a family group on arrival from Iceland greets each other with lots of honking, neck stretching and wing flapping (see extra). Wonderful to watch.
Then we went on to watch for Red Kites – fabulous. (see extra)
We went down to the sea for a wander in the last of the sunshine. We were going to end the day by stopping on the way home to watch starlings. But we spent too long in the teashop at New Abbey misjudged the time and missed them. We will return.
