Lantern Festival
Last night we walked into town to see the lantern festival. It was actually hard to get decent shots due to light pollution and the crowds. The atmosphere was good and the displays lovely. The lanterns were colourful and there was some entertainment, so different from last year. My shot is taken from a Temple Gateway, a Monk was chanting and bestowing blessings. People were then releasing their lanterns. I've added a couple of extras one of the street and one of a drum troupe who incorporated fire juggling, the preformer had taken a mouthful of beer and then exhaled onto his fire sticks making the flames flare brightly. There were also market stalls open along the road. We ate a late dinner before returning home. An excellent evening.
