Together
Spent the journey to work stuck in traffic.
Thankfully the journey home was not so bad as Wife and I had plans to go out, together, without the little ones.
Since Boy was born, Wife and I, have not been out together of an evening as just us. We have tried. We have booked the babysitter only for one of the kids to then pull a sicky meaning we have had to cancel.
Tonight we managed to break our duck. We discussed the babysitter with Girl and Boy last night. Boy was quite happy and surprisingly so was Girl, after finding out she was to be the assistant to help show the babysitter how they go to bed.
Babysitter was early, she arrived in time for a cornet of Haagen Dazs. This was great as it meant we could all have a natter. Both Boy and girl have known Babysitter since they were very young and so were very pleased to see her.
Once the ice creams were polished off and the washing up was done the kids gave the tour of the toys, encompassing a lot of toys and books. I popped up to see how it was going where they both excitedly said "goodbye". And with that we were in the car, a bit confused.
There was none of crying and screaming that we were expecting. There was no stress, it was great. We arrived at the comedy a little bit before the show was due to start. As we pulled up in the car park Peacock & Gamble were playing in the leaves outside.
We told them to watch out for dog poo and then headed in for a brilliant funny night where they made us laugh, a lot, as we sat in their lighthouse.
Mid first half we got a text to tell us the little ones were happily asleep. This made the night even more enjoyable. It was great to be out with Wife again.
We then headed back to our quiet house sorted out Babysitters bike lights, thanked her, then all slept all night long (that never happens).
I think we shall be calling on the Baby sitter more often.
