Free Object by Antony Gormley.

Standing alone on a huge lawn  at the back of the Trinity college, this sculpture  celebrates  the college's 700th anniversary of it's foundation.  2.5 times life size, weighing over 10 tonnes and made of cast iron. Antony Gormley decided to pursue art, after studying anthropology at Trinity, then nearly became a Buddhist monk while travelling in India. The human body, his own in particular, has been his subject in sculpture that explores humanity, space and community. He says he has never been interested in making statues, but has been interested in asking what is the nature  of the space a human being inhabits.
