Sturnus vulgaris

Went up to the allotment and re-stocked the bird feeders again - the spudgers were joined by some very noisy starlings. First blip I saw this morning was Cabbagetree's starling  - funny to think that while this guy is just happily stuffing his crop with food and squabbling with his mates, his cousin on the far side of the planet is being run ragged by a nest full of demanding chicks!
