Diary of an Edinburgher

An extra hour

That extra hour was much appreciated. It meant that it wasn’t too early when JR had to put the pork into the slow cooker for five hours for lunch. And very tasty it was too.

Elizabeth and our luncheon visitors were arriving about the same time, but both were late. Very late. A whole hour late, actually. I hadn’t changed the clock in the lounge! When we eventually realised, we were pleased to sit down and have a relaxed coffee instead of rushing around thinking we were running out of time.

Leo is getting so big. I used to look after him when he was a toddler, and he exhausted me then. It was me (I?) who always needed an afternoon snooze.

He was pleased to see Archie, but the feeling was not reciprocated... In fact, Archie was even more delighted than usual to be going out with Elizabeth for the afternoon! But he grudgingly posed with Leo.

And what a glorious day it was too - almost a shame to be inside on such a day. But there will be plenty more like this, I hope.
