Pumpkin Weigh In

Back in spring, school gave each pupil a pumpkin seedling. They were to tend their pumpkin and see who could grow the heaviest. I am notoriously bad at growing stuff. And I killed the first pumpkin our plant produced. It was growing brilliantly too and would have been a good one. But it gave us a second at the tail end of summer. So we had a not too shameful pumpkin to take to school for weigh in day today. Katie's weighed 2.9 kg. Her friend took a 39.5 kg one that her grandad had grown in his allotment and was biggest in the school. By 25kg. Katie was happy to come second in her year and got a weigh-in certificate.
