Diary of an Edinburgher

Beach!

Despite Archie spending much of the night wrapped round my head, I was awake and ready to log on to order an iPhone X at 8am. I know, I know, it's all a big scam. It's just this big upgrade I must have- I won’t do it again next year. Honest.

The day looked promising. Archie and I sat out in the sun after our gym visit. JR had things to do and so we decided to go to the beach with Janet and Bailey. It was sunny, but colder than last time we were there, when it was positively balmy.

We had the obligatory bacon bap and coffee (and liver muffin for the doggies) and we were joined for breakfast by a cheeky starling, who looked rather splendid in the sunshine (extra).

We walked right along the beach. The tide was out further than I’ve seen, and we could walk right round the groynes at the sea end, which I’ve never been able to do before.

Archie went paddling, but Bailey doesn’t like to get her feet wet. Luckily, neither of them saw this touching wee sight (extra 2).

Despite the generally cool temperature, I had a big ice cream. Janet tried to, but could not resist, and made do with a smaller one.

I started Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine on my erstwhile redundant Kindle, and I got to Chapter Five before conking out last night, and can’t wait to get into it again tonight. Thanks to all those folk who have been recommending it.
