A grand day out
I went into Manchester with James and Heidi.
We ate lunch at a Teppanyaki restaurant and the food was utterly divine. Heidi is a real foodie so it was a real pleasure to have lunch with her. Crab sushi, chicken gyoza and duck pancakes to start. Then we had sautéed potatoes (I was the only one to be successful in catching the piece that the chef launched into the air to be caught in my mouth - no doubt Kaybee is going to say that’s because I have a big mouth. He’d be correct!), beautiful egg fried rice, stir fried veggies, duck in raspberry sauce and pork fillet in ginger and sesame sauce. A couple of non alcoholic cocktails each as well.
We then wandered over to the other side of town. The kids went to the Arndale whilst I went to Bravissimo. No further details, except to say what an absolute revelation it was!
We then went to Affleck’s Palace, where I bought a beautiful, full length black brocade coat - my inner goth is extremely happy. We had a mooch, I bought a couple of pieces of art and then we moved on, to the Cat Cafe, where we spent an hour drinking tea and hot chocolate and mooching around with the utterly gorgeous and very well looked after cats.
Then we collected the car and drove over the the Apollo to watch Greg Davies, who did not disappoint. I cried with laughter. He truly is a magnificent beast.
Home, via McDonalds to get more food for the teenagers.
Sleep now, before another day of errands and potentially the purchase of a new sofa. Two hour yoga class tomorrow night as well.
Half term - relaxation. Nope! However, I have managed to have some quality time with the people I love, so I am happy. Hopefully, Corin and I can get an afternoon together on Saturday and that will top my week off perfectly.
