Reasons
I'd thought I might blip the new National Park sign that's gone up down the road, we are the first (or indeed last) house inside this new part of the park . But it's been sited on a truly terrible place to stop or even get that near to, and frankly it's a little dull, so instead I decided I'd blip a view that I feel shows why this area is so special.
All hills and mountains are magical, but Howgills (& now the Westmorland Dale's) , these transitionary hills betwixt the rolling pasture of the Dale's and the craggy fells of Lakeland, have a quality thats uniquely their own. Their combinations of curve and cleft captures the light and plays with the cloud shadows in a way I find mesmerising.
Its often enough to make me stop and stare.
