MoMA

Well today was my last day in New York . I spent it wandering about and going to the Museum of Modern Art where I was delighted to see a Vincent Van Gogh painting.  I never used to be into art before until I started working with secondary school children and listened to some of their art teachers who explained things a lot clearer than I remember from my own school days.
Before I came to New York I wasn't quite sure how it was going to be as I'm not a fan of crowds or heights! Also Americans don't always have the best of reputations abroad but I must say I found them all to be really helpful and friendly in a far more genuine way than I had expectations of. It just went to reinforce how important it is to take people just as they are. However I have had a whale of a time seeing things that I'd only ever seen on tv or heard about through music. Have to say pretty much that although everything was a highlight in it's own way there will always be a special place in my heart for (even with no Gene Kelly or King Kong) the Empire State Building.
