Catwalks and nursery rhymes

Read an interview with actress Salma Hayek today. She has a beautiful five year old daughter called Valentina. She said and I quote, "I am tired every day. I wake up tired, I go to sleep tired, and somewhere in between I get a second wind where I feel energetic, then I crash again. But I feel a lot of mothers will identify with that. When I really, really cannot move any more, I think about the fact that I have love in my life, and I remember the times when I didn't have it, and no matter how tired I am, I get up and I get it done".

Wise words. I can really identify with that lately as I feel permanently tired and lethargic, wondering how I'll ever function properly again. Sounds like tiredness is here to stay and is part and parcel of being a Mum. It plays havoc with your mood, energy levels, looks and ability to concentrate though. I wonder if I will ever feel human again.

Tonight was a step in the right direction. A night out with Laura and Kate to the Harvey Nicks Autumn/Winter fashion show. It was wonderfully frivolous , full of glamorous women and most importantly, it had nothing to do with babies. We hardly even spoke about our children except for an amusing drunken moment when we sang each other the nursery rhymes we sing to Audrey, Sam and Max.

Tonight's blip pic was taken of the catwalk show we watched. Everyone was taking it very seriously as you can see - but we mainly giggled. Well, it's not often we drink or get out these days you know!
