Special day

Today is my birthday - my first birthday I've spent away from home.

Spent a relaxing morning in the villa. Opened cards and some presents (those that arrived before we left for hols and pressies that weren't too heavy for the suitcase!) - lovely pressies :)

Late morning, popped down to the local beach (around 22 degrees by this time), coffee alfresco with people watching :)

Back to the villa for a snack lunch. A bit overcast so no swimming in the pool. Then around 4:30, heavens opened with a short downpour of rain (it was as if someone had turned a tap on).

Evening meal out at a local restaurant - sat looking out towards Majorca, ideal position for sunset. The only thing we couldn't control was the weather, very low clouds. Hubby had arranged for a "candle" in my dessert, the waitress said they couldn't find the "happy birthday" tune in their repertoire of songs so played James Blunt "your beautiful" instead. (Not too embarrassed as there were not many in the restaurant, those that were there were mostly men.)

What a lovely birthday I've had :)
