Here, finally, it is: Ca di Bati.

Another day cutting the grass, the brambles, the teasels, the field maple saplings and trying to avoid the ploughing by the wild boar and the stones they've pulled up to the surface. Each terrace becomes harder but I'm not complaining.

A quick visit to the Farmer's Shop Casentinese. Bought WD 40, a brilliant long-bladed billhook, 6 boxes of matches and two pairs of gloves. There are onion sets of many sorts, seed garlic, still lettuce, raddichio, cabbage plants for planting.

I will talk to Gianluca who has friends who have a smallholding round the corner from us. Maybe they could come in and rotovate a strip for me to do some planting for the winter.

They put my goods in a box and as they were having coffee the guy offered me his espresso in a tiny plastic cup. Now, how sweet is that. I said I'd be coming back often.

The colours are stunning. The sun moves through the house lighting different parts of it.

Too much low light. My head aches. Or maybe it was the Frescobaldi  'speciale' last night. And there is even an old motorbike in one of the sheds. With the key in the ignition but presumably locked solid and seized.

Later I called into the hardware shop in Strada - remember I'm already a 'stradini'. The boss was away and I'll go back tomorrow to get my broken keys cut and get the old key section taken out of the shed lock. Very, very nice people. So welcoming.

A good drive back over the pass. And guess what: it is the SS70 - strada statale 70. Just two points above the A68. There are similarities and one day I hope to have a Blipmeet to prove it.

Still no leccy but hey, I've located the water main stopcock and GL is helping us tomorrow with the transfers and we should be insured.

As they say in Italian, 'Si va avanti.' Onwards, comrades.

Yep. That's it. The house on the right, the converted barn on the left. Those pines trees will be going. Providing the Caribinieri Forestali approve.

I used to thank all comments but at the moment it all all too momentous. But, of course, thank you all the same for coming by and your generosity.
