Cold Calling

Friends are people who will happily come for coffee wearing extra warm clothes to sit with you in the Dower House ice box and chatter but not chitter.
When I was a child, my mother always gave me what was known as a chittery bite after my swimming lessons. I don't suppose in those far off times at Warrender Swimming Baths, the water was as warm as now and the changing cubicles were not heated. I gave my coffee ladies chittery bites this morning.

In the afternoon, my once removed cousin, blipper Magpie, kept me company as we updated each other on family news while clutching hot drinks. Before her lips turned blue she headed home, but it was lovely to see her.

Meanwhile, His Lordship has scarpered up to Perth to walk with his brother. Not for him a day in the Dower House and the electric heater when the temperature outside is described as 'feels like 8°.
After he is due back at 6pm there was a possibly helpful suggestion from someone that we zip our down sleeping bags together and make a warm twosome as we watch the television tonight. Mmmm, I think on balance I'll stick to my own down coat.
