Fountains Abbey

Tuesday 17th October 2017 (1879)

The temptation is to hibernate but I need to force myself to get out for some fresh air and something different. Today was forecast as the only dry day so I took the opportunity to go to Fountains Abbey, I haven't been there for years. 

I walked down to the abbey from the visitors centre and wandered through the ruins. I know this is the classic shot but I love it and wanted to take it again. The sun made an appearance just then too. I was hoping the trees would have changed to autumn colours, but they're only just beginning to.  I walked all round Studley Royal water gardens and back up through the deer park, which is quite a trek. Back home mid afternoon for a rest now.
