There and back again – Day 12

Travelling from Rotorua to Napier today.
We stopped off at Aratiatia Rapids which are just below the 
dam. Every 2 hours the dam opens its gates to release water 
down to the power station below.
It was used in The Hobbit filming where the dwarves escape in barrels  from Thrandriul's realm. 
We then headed down to Lake Taupo for a break stop with a walk 

along the front. Today's destination was Napier on the East coast of 
North Island.
