Countdown to DANGER!

My Dear Fellows and Princess Normal,

There was a quake today. I was in Countdown supermarket when -

SHRIEK! SHRIEK! SHRIEK! SHRIEK!!

No, that wasn't me. It was the REALLY EFFING LOUD siren in the store. The Wellingtonians kept on shopping. There was a chance this was THE BIG ONE but on the other hand, there's a chippy shortage, hadn't you heard??

I didn't know what it was all about. I took the cable car back home and when I got in Er Indoors said, "Did you FEEL that?! About ten minutes ago??"

Apparently the whole house lurched and the cats were freaked out briefly. But that was it.Another tremor. And again, I didn't really feel it. Er Indoors said it was such a weird lurching feeling she felt a bit barfy afterward.

In other news I've had a toothache or possibly really bad gingivitis all day. I'm not sure which, I just know that it feels like I've been punched in the gob.
