Strange Sky
Not as red/orange as it was earlier when we went to the gym(!) Apparently that was a combination of saharan sand and make from wild fire in Portugal brought north by the remnants of Hurricane Ophelia that has been battering Eire today. Not really much effect here yet, and I'm not sure we will see much of it. Football was good tonight, even if every shot I got on target seemed to head straight for the keeper. Much better as a creator of goals with several assists, most notably one when I comprehensively turned the defender, got to the by-line and hit a perfect left foot cross straight onto N's foot as he ran in to score at pace. We won comfortably, although it was much more competitive than last week.
Today's social media has been full of the #MeToo hashtag as women share the fact that they have experienced some form of sexual assault in their lives. Lots of women. All sorts of things, none of them wanted. Things that are not news to many women, who have quietly shared their stories with each other for years, and maybe with their closest men folk, but today are making it very public just how widespread this really is. How unacceptable it is and how we should all try harder to have a policy of zero tolerance for it all. Which resonates after last night's trip to see the new Blade Runner, which seemed very misogynist to me. Could it be worse than the original, despite three decades of 'progress'?
