Diary of an Edinburgher

Needle in a haystack

Archie needed to go out into the back garden about 6.30am, but went back to sleep again. So I had a long lie in - why not, when I had a wee dog lying on his back, head on my pillow, nose in my ear, snoring gently. Most pleasant, but this lost hour put me wrong for the rest of the day.

We both managed to go to the gym, and when JR went to the supermarket I took Archie to the Links, though the sky looked really ominous. We brought the giant frisbee and had great fun. Then a text came through from Annet, who was at our door for the arranged pick up. Oops! Still, not too bad - she came right round and found us. She actually found us (well, me anyway) closely examining the autumn leaves on the grass. Archie had deposited a poo amongst them, but could I find it? No, I could not. Sorry.

Annet and Archie went off playing with the frisbee, and I sneaked off home. The sky was a weird shade of pink, I see this happened all over the country.

Archie and Annet came back, Archie had a wash and dry, and Annet had a cuppa, then Rufus and his mum popped in. Rufus muscled in on Archie's sofa seat - love the look on Archie's face. He doesn’t look too happy with the little scene stealer...
