As I Passed the Harbour - MV Hallaig
16.6C and fairly dull with a few light showers. Calm in the morning then winds increasing through the afternoon. Wind E/SE/ESE to 45 mph with gusts to 57 mph by 4pm. Storm Ophelia is arriving. Winds at this strength or stronger with gusts over 60 mph are forecast for several hours from 5pm.
I went for a walk about 3pm.
The MV Hallaig is a diesel-electric hybrid ferry built for the Caledonian MacBrayne service between Skye and Raasay. She was the first ship to be fully built and delivered on the Clyde in over five years, and one of two hybrid ferries to combine diesel electric and lithium-ion battery power. She's named after a poem by Sorley MacLean.
