Glenridding
After yesterday's trip to a fantastic walking boot shop in the Trough of Bowland I was keen to get out and try my new purchase. Unfortunately I had not had the time to proof the new boots so disappointingly had to use the old ones that now leak. The plan was to take the boat to Howtown and walk back along the edge of Ullswater as the winds were forecast to be too high to consider anything higher. Sadly the winds took their toll on the steamer sailings which were all cancelled. Plan B was to do a circular walk to Silver Point and back. We shared this route with hundreds of trail runners whose route was also changed because of the weather. Full autumn colours have finally arrived in the Lakes. In extras is a shot of a small waterfall in front of an old slate mine we passed en route.
