Growing ....
Go large.
Last week I blipped this little 'shroom on the end of a large log in Bracondale wood - immediately beside the 'shroom were some tiny little babies emerging. Elsewhere on the same log section were other tiny orange dots. Today I went back to check on their progress and found that in the last week they've grown somewhat! Today's blip is one cluster - I suspect the total mass of 'shrooms will provide a few more blips as they grow ....
This morning as I sat on my settee eating breakfast I suddenly spotted this huge spider on the wall above my window. I love spiders, but there comes a size at which I'm happier for them to be outside rather than wandering around un-escorted in my living room! This one had to be captured in a pint glass and put beside my shed, near a gap in the woodwork where I hoped it would find its way in and make itself comfy in there ....
Though not great quality shots these illustrate the size of it :
here it is on one of the beams - this beam's about 2 and 1/2 inches across.
Here it is in the pint glass, trying to make an escape
and this is it on the nettle stem where I placed it.
It's a humdinger isn't it?
