The Caretaker of Electric Light

Cragside House was built by William Armstrong - an eminent Victorian scientist, inventor and philanthropist.  It was the first house in the world lit by hydroelectricity.  This is a picture I took in the Butler's Pantry - the Butler arranged the rooms to be lit and used this phone to contact the "Caretaker of Electric Light" who controlled the Power House where Armstrong had his hydroelectric generator installed.
