There and back again - Day 9

We left Tairua and headed south towards Matamata and Hobbiton.

This is one of the highlights of the trip and it didn't disappoint.
Hobbiton was rebuilt for the Hobbit movies and the farmer who 
owned the land went into partnership with Peter Jackson to keep 
the movie set as it was and maintain a little piece of the Shire.

It was just like walking into the movie , all still set up with each 
different hobbit house , the one in the picture is the bodger's 
house. There was a baker , fishmonger and bee keeper as well as 
Bagend the Baggins hole.
The guide was brilliant with lots of behind the scenes stories which
mean I have got to watch all the films again to spot new stuff.
Wonderful place with lots of pictures and memories to take away.
