Today was this..
but only for about 100 miles. The temperature when we started out this morning was 28F but no snow where we spent the night. As we approached Cheyenne, Wyoming we started seeing snow patches and then more and more snow the further west we drove. Between Cheyenne and Laramie, which is some major elevation of mountains, there was probably 6-8 inches of snow..it was white as far as I could see except for the gray of the road. We turned onto this 2 lane road to travel the last 60 miles. After we got past that mountain in the distance, the snow started to go away! But the time we got to our destination, it was only visible in the shady areas of the trees.
After unloading the truck we walked about 2 miles! And it was not easy as this location is about 8300 ft elevation. Tomorrow we will just be lazy and maybe walk a little more to get our bodies adjusted to Colorado Mountains.
Thanks so much for any comments and likes on the last couple of days. Blips were posted from my tablet and it was not easy to type on that little thing! And motel internet is so slow!
The weather will be wonderful here for me...cool and sunny! I have heard from my son at home who said the weather there is "grossly hot"! I sure am glad I am not there for that last gasp of summer in South Carolina!
