Perplexed Polly!

I gave Polly the last egg that Tilly had laid before taking her up to the allotment. I decided to put her in the coop with the run door shut so that the other girls could get used to her and her to them! Well talk about putting the cat amongst the pigeons! All of them went into a clucking disgruntledness! I sat and watched them all for a while then opened the run door and left them to it to bury Tilly. When I next looked Polly had come out of the coop and was inspecting the run, she stood in the doorway for a while then headed back inside the coop! I sat for a while eating some seeds and a banana with my camera at the ready. It came apparent that she was not coming out and the others were not going in! So I opened the hatch to the nesting box incase they did, so Polly could make an escape if necessary! I was beginning to feel light headed and rather peculiar so then headed home and promptly fell asleep for 3 hours! I woke just in time to go up and put them all to bed! Polly was still in the coop and Henrietta and Izzy had joined her! Bizarrely the other girls were reluctant to join them - all queuing up outside but not going in! Finally as it got darker they did and as I closed the door all was quiet within. I did phone the morning opener to let him know she was on the plot and it was best he opened up early incase they gave her a rough time in the morning! It was so odd coming home and not having to go outside to do a home lock up.
