Survivor

This is just one of our lovely canna that survived about 4 weeks on the drive of our old house and then a 150 mile lorry journey last Sunday. I must say that the removal company did pack them all well on the lorry. There were all sorts of shrubs and plants and trees, and only a couple of cannas were broken - but as they stand about 5 feet tall, it's not surprising.
The new place is looking a lot more homely now that we have some plants about the place. C has already planted some (the once that were brought were all in pots or troughs or containers) and today we visited a nursery (not a garden centre!) and bought a couple of shrubs for our "red border". There are no borders as such yet - they will have to be dug.
