Marmite Art

Nearly every morning on Solace I make The Mate 2 slices of toast and Marmite. Some mornings I give him a change and make him peanut butter ones.

The squeeze bottle's getting a bit empty so the Marmite wasn't flowing smoothly by today but I was aiming for a Glasgow Rose being a Rennie Mackintosh fan.

I did ask if on a future one I could add some raspberry and blackcurrant jam to give some appropriate colour to it but he said a firm "No!" to that.

Today we got back near our marina but we still have a day in hand so we turned down onto the Staffs & Worcs canal through the picturesque Tixall Wide a part of the canal deliberately made wide so as to look like a lake when viewed from Tixall Hall. It was the only way the landowner would allow the canal to go through his land and took advice from Capability Brown.

We were wondering where to moor for the night when we saw 2 kingfishers. Decision made! What was even more exciting was seeing 2 posts with a length of rebar between them fastened with baler twine!
