Queensferry Crossing

After watching various stages of the build progress, the closure of the gap, and the Official Opening we made the excuse to use the Queensferry Crossing by visiting Pittencrieff Park in Fife.

Purchased in 1902 by Andrew Carnegie, and donated to the people of Dunfermline, his birthplace, the original house (extra 1) was built by Sir Alexander Clerk of Pittencrieff as a simple laird's house in around 1610, and extended by the Forbes family in 1731.

We did not manage to explore the whole park, nor the glen, but did see the Laird's Garden, which was full of autumn flowers, attracting Red Admiral butterflies (extras 2 & 3) and the Art Deco style café.
