So near but yet so far...

Windy today. A morning spent at the grain dryer . Had to go across to help wee brother bring a cow in to calve. Didn't go to plan as the calf died and the cow needed a bottle of calcium as down with milk fever.
Went to a funeral this afternoon, the father of friends. A big turn out.
Back home as the contractor busy cutting barley for us. Managed to get 2 fields baled by 9pm, then took over carting grain to let the staff away home ( over time ain't cheap ! )
We were getting on fine until 11.30 pm when the rain came on. Another hour would have finished the field , and the harvest . Not to be though. Ho hum.
