Promise

This little yellow rose bud brought the word "promise" to my thoughts. I know that bud will produce a beautiful rose. That rose bush produces continually all throughout the year. If it doesn't have a completely opened rose to view, then it almost always has a bud, if not several with the "promise" that blooming roses are in the future.

The thought of "promise" has a double meaning here, too, because the pergola, installed earlier this summer, is just the first portion of a re-do on that side of our backyard. The plan is to put river rock and top quality astro-turf as ground cover below the pergola. Another project collided with the patio re-do, so the patio went on "pause" while we give our attention to the other. I look forward to the day with the patio is completely finished. Hopefully that will be sooner rather than later.

Today's weather was lovely with autumn written all over it. The weather people are predicting that tomorrow will be extremely hot again -- ugh!
