Off exploring our local surroundings today.

There are the ruins of a Roman Camp only three miles north of us and despite living in Pickering for four years we've never been to them before.

There wasn't anything of the roman camp to be seen only some ditches but there was some spectacular views of the surrounding area. The light was so poor that those shots weren't good.

On the way back to the car spotted this. Love all the textures both on the mushroom and the forest floor.

And then for another first - a visit to Rosedale Abbey and only 10 miles away.

We really must get out more!
