Irish potato

In Malawi these spuds are called Irish potato. I think it's true fro many African countries.

Most of our earlier attempts to grow potatoes in Mzuzu produced miserable, tiny ones, but this year we sent to Dedza for new certified seed that Irish Aid and my taxes spent a fortune producing. (Of course we had to buy and transport them)

I just dug a few stalks that had withered and the prospects of a good harvest looks promising.

About 90 of our farmers should have the same, as we supplied them with seed as well.
