Water Buffalo

Today has been a travelling day from the Mekong to Siem Reap.  Abut five hours on a bus through fascinating countryside and villages.  My target for the day was to get a shot of some water buffalo and some lotus flowers.  Both rather tricky from a moving bus so you have two not very good shots but I think they are quite atmospheric in their way.  The Cambodian landscape is beautiful and distinctive with its interesting shapes  both manmade and natural.  The main blip just about contains two water buffalo with the addy fields in the background and the extra has an expanse of lotus flowers in the foreground and paddy fields and shapely trees in the background.  Great skies today too.

We are now in a beautiful hotel in Siem Reap.  We had a swim in the pool this afternoon, followed by a delicious buffet dinner watching such elegant Cambodian traditional dancers.  We are visiting two areas of Angkor tomorrow.

We didn't sample the tarantulas or crickets on offer at the market we stopped at en route!
