Jamaica Inn Bodmin Moor

The opening lines from Daphne du Mauriers Rebecca, one of my favourite books .

But also the author of the equally as famous Jamaica inn, a tale of Cornish smuggling and murder.

Here Roo learnt all about life as a smuggler not that he would ever be so naughty (Harry maybe!)

There is also a Daphne du Maurier room that has some fascinating personal possessions including her writing desk.

We are stopping less than a mile away from the famous boat house she wrote about in Rebecca.

This evening we braced the hills of Fowey, another lovely Cornish village.
