I was expecting Mum to want some practice going up and down the drive on her new scooter before venturing anywhere in the village. But no, she plunged straight in and rode on it to St Luke's in time (just) for the morning service. She even wore a matching outfit - yes, the scooter is responsible for our turquoise fashion phase! As Mum did used to drive a car, and even operated a sit-on mower for many years, she's been doing very well getting used to the scooter. By the time we got home for lunch, her face was lit up with a huge grin - wonderful to see her enjoying the ability to reach local places under her own steam once again.
